I spent a large part of my career in the commercial radio industry, writing scripts and producing audio for some of the UK’s biggest networks and household names. I’ve had to balance busy workloads in fast environments and consolidate client and brand needs whilst heading up and coaching a team of talented producers.

These days I run an audio production company called Podcast Pioneers. We make branded audio content, podcasts, documentaries, sitcoms… everything audio, with strategic planning and digital campaigns. We’re particularly passionate about championing new writing talent and creating genre-busting scripted narrative content. On the side we do a few non-profit projects too.

I make a lot of historical, cultural and outdoorsy programmes too. Here are few examples:

I’ve made series on world-changing speeches and counter-factual history for Audible via ITN Productions, and even a last-minute doco when Prince broke all our hearts and went to the purple beyond.

I still make stuff for Fresh Air Production. Neil lets me do all the things I LOVE and in the past year that includes:

English Heritage’s Speaking with Shadows, presented by Josie Long.

Reflections for the National Galleries of Scotland, presented by Ewen Bremner

We’re currently working on RBG Kew’s forthcoming series too. Bit of a dream come true.

In the past I’ve developed award-winning programmes as a content producer for Fresh Air Production including the National Trust Gardens podcast. We worked with Meera Syal to create the iTunes chart top 10 series Parliament Explained with the Houses of Parliament (Bronze for Branded Content at the British Podcast Awards 2018). And I loved making Irreplaceable: A History of England in 100 Places for Historic England (Silver for Branded Content at the British Podcast Awards 2018).
